The future of knitwear according to Polimoda new talents Innovative projects and inspiration from the final exhibition of the Master in Knitwear Design

At first it was the spring of lockdown, then the summer of rebirth and now the autumn of the new-normal: knitwear had already gained 83% more popularity in March 2020, compared to March of the previous year, according to Stylight. Alongside the unique visions of the SS22 collections presented in Milan, London and Paris in September, appear those of the young talents of the Master in Knitwear Design of Polimoda to project into the future the evolution of the knitwear with creativity and varied inspirations.

The event marks the end of the 9-month course that began in January 2021, with a strong focus on the technical background linked to the knowledge of materials and processing techniques but also on the creative and organizational aspect of one's fashion projects. In collaboration with the Italian company Missoni, famous for its timeless yarns, the Master in Knitwear Design is a 360-degree training course that includes trend forecasting, merchandising strategy and collection planning, with the aim of training the designers and production managers of tomorrow.

From next October, Belgian designer An Vandevorst will hold the role of Head of Fashion Design, alongside the director Massimiliano Giornetti. And the next edition of the master is starting in January 2022.
